Dear church family,
just a reminder that this Sunday,(6th October), is our Harvest Festival and Compassion Sunday service.
Harvest is a special time of year when we can show our generosity to others. The children may like to come with some food items to bring to the altar during the first song.
Our food donation is going to people we can bless in the Lord this year.
This Sunday we are giving to the homeless through the Rainbow centre and next Sunday we are giving gifts to the community of Hawkinge,(more details to follow).
This is an All-Age service, so the children will remain in the church throughout.
The service will also be an important opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone for their love and service to the church and community. There will be teaching for the children on the importance of sharing and there will be a sermon for the adults during which time the children will be engaged with a Table Top activity.
We will also pray for our town as our overall aim is always to advance the gospel and see people saved.
Do come and support our Harvest service on Sunday and our Giving service next Sunday.
This is a great time for sharing our stories to encourage one another and our kindness to the local community. A traditional time for Christians to come to church to give thanks to the Lord and reach out to others.
Also, don’t forget that Sunday 13th October is our ‘Messy Harvest’ (not to be missed!), from 3pm onwards, in the hall and church. ‘Messy Church’ is a lot of fun for the children and features several craft activities, songs, fun games, life music, story and food. Not a computer game in sight! This is a great afternoon for children and families and a perfect opportunity to invite friends and family along.
