All-age church treasure hunt 6th April

Rev Rob GrinsellDear church,

We are planning a series of social events throughout the year that will enable us as a church family to have fun and to get to know each other better. They will also provide an opportunity to invite family members and friends who would not normally come to church, to feel included and welcomed by us. (Our cheese and wine parties and Barn dance later in year, are also part of our desire to reach out.)

So, we are planning an all-age church treasure hunt. The hunt will take place in Deal on 6th April. This is a walking trail that leads you in a circular route around the town centre and seafront of Deal, taking you through narrow streets, past the pier and castle and through the busy town centre as you follow the clues. (It is really good fun and a little bit of exercise too). It takes an hour and half so it’s quite manageable for young ones. We start at 11am and aim to finish 12:30—1pm and then we’ll go for fish and chips on the seafront. (Or bring a packed lunch). The start and finish location is at St Georges Road Car Park, Deal, CT14 6EB.

The treasure hunt is free, with a small prize for everyone who enters and a special, delicious prize for the winning team! (Donated sacrificially from Rob’s secret chocolate stash).

If you are thinking of coming, please email me or the church office just so we have an idea of numbers. Or catch myself, Kate Ruston or Sarah Grinsell at church.

Go on. You know you want to!
