Exciting events coming up

Rev Rob GrinsellDear church,
Paul reminds us in his epistle to the Romans that,

…the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. Romans 8: 26

It’s good to be reminded that we do not know how to pray and that we are on a spiritual journey and have not yet arrived. It’s for this reason that we are hosting our conference on prayer. Ian Christensen will be joining us on Friday 8th Feb and all day on Saturday 9th February.

To listen to celebrated teaching from one of the best international bible teachers on prayer is a huge privilege and I know we will be truly inspired in our prayer lives. Prayer changes things and I know you will be greatly blessed and encouraged through this weekend.

Prayer is the single most important ministry of the church. There is a necessity of prayer that is vital for everything we do in God.

The conference teaching will include ‘The power and benefits of prayer’ on Friday and ‘The Rewards of The Secret Place’ on Saturday. (Friday 8th will also be our designated day of prayer for the church).

Then having been inspired by Ian’s teaching and his anointing in raising the prayer life of both individuals and churches, we will begin our week of prayer from Monday until Thursday when the Bethel Team arrive for their mission to Hawkinge.

We would love people to host prayer events in their homes during this week. We are looking for a prayer meeting each day, hosted in a different home, for people to be able to attend when they are free to. We are hoping to have some in the evenings and some during the day. You may wish to offer prayer around a simple buffet lunch or just coffee, you may like to have just a simple prayer meeting or a more creative prayer event. Please let me or the office know if you are able to offer your home and on what times.

In addition to home meetings, we are looking to breakthrough and unlock all that God wants for us as a church. This prayer conference and the following prayer week will take us into a deeper, richer intimacy with the Lord to release more of his anointing and a greater measure of the Holy Spirit’s gifting.

Please ask someone who doesn’t attend the Lighthouse church to join you for this weekend. We want it be a blessing not just for ourselves but for all those who will be inspired to pray.
