Youth Ministry

Rev Rob GrinsellDear Church family,
just a quick update on our youth ministry. We had 21 young people at our Fusion Friday youth club last Friday evening. Our youth group now has 25 young people who attend, which is one the largest church youth groups in the area. I was made very aware of this during the final game of ‘British Bulldog’, as I presented a large slow moving target, which they couldn’t help but tag!

This Friday we are having our ‘Battle of the Zorbes’, (large plastic globes the youth get into to play football – see left), this is becoming legendary, with other church youth clubs asking to join in.

During our teaching times, we have been looking at why bad things happen to good people and where God is in the face of such terrible national events recently. We have also been considering the place of prayer for ourselves and those around us.

Two Sundays evenings ago Craig and the team put on their monthly ‘Bulb’ youth evening activity, this time on ‘rhythm’. It was a fantastic evening of creative prayer, games, video clips, discussions etc., and we are looking to replicate this for our Youth Sunday on August 27th after some of our youth return from ‘Soul Saviour’.

We have about 50 children in our congregation as well as 25 youth in our youth club, which I am told, makes us the youngest demographic churches in the diocese. So we are now officially a young church!

We want to thank God for all that He does through our children groups and youth groups and the wonderful work our volunteers do. Our team ministry is making a considerable difference to the lives of our young people especially now with some of our teenagers serious seeking after the Lord.

Every blessing in Christ

‘Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these’
