Romans 6: 1-7
- According to Romans 6:1-6, what significance does baptism have for the Christian?
- Read Romans 6:1-4 again. If Christians have died to sin, why do they continue to sin?
1 John 1:1-12
- According to 1 John 1:5-9, in what ways can we testify about God?
1 John 1:7 says
…there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood.
What does John mean by the testimony of
- the Spirit?
- the water?
Look also at John 19:31-37 ‘The Death of Jesus’
- What connections can you find between this passage and 1 John 1:5-9
Either reflect personally or share with one another your observations or experiences of either water baptism or meditating on (or hearing preaching on) the cross of Jesus.
